NATIONAL COLORING BOOK DAY

National Coloring Book Day is celebrated annually on August 2. Coloring and coloring books have always been popular with children, but over the years adults have gotten more and more involved with coloring. Adult coloring is now a huge trend and many are finding that it is not only fun but also a great way to reduce stress. Founded in 1941, Dover Publications led the way, releasing their first coloring book for adults, Antique Automobiles Coloring Book, in 1970. Dover now publishes Creative Haven®, a popular line of coloring books specially designed for adult colorists.

CELEBRATE

Spend some time coloring with your friends, children or grandchildren or by yourself. Enjoy the creativity of making a picture come to life. Post your pictures on social media using #NationalColoringBookDay to encourage others to find the enjoyment in coloring.

HISTORY

National Coloring Book Day was submitted by Dover Publications in May 2015. The Registrar at National Day Calendar declared National Coloring Book Day to be observed annually on August 2.

Translation day

International Translation Day is celebrated every year on 30 September on the feast of St. Jerome, the Bible translator who is considered the patron saint of translators. The celebrations have been promoted by FIT (the International Federation of Translators) ever since it was set up in 1953. In 1991 FIT launched the idea of an officially recognised International Translation Day to show solidarity of the worldwide translation community in an effort to promote the translation profession in different countries (not necessarily only in Christian ones). This is an opportunity to display pride in a profession that is becoming increasingly essential in the era of progressing globalisation.

NATIONAL MAKING LIFE BEAUTIFUL DAY

National Making Life Beautiful Day is celebrated annually on June 11. It is a day dedicated to encouraging and celebrating men and women who are making life beautiful. Whether you’re creating beauty through building relationships or helping others achieve personal success, one small action can lead to a ripple effect, making life beautiful not just for yourself, but for those around you, too.

HISTORY
Making Life Beautiful Day was submitted by Apriori Beauty and declared by the Registrar of National Day Calendar in April, 2015. The date was chosen because Apriori Beauty launched their mission to help men and women look and feel beautiful with their availability of their internal and external approach to beauty on June 11, 2009.

NATIONAL IT PROFESSIONALS DAY

Celebrated annually every third Tuesday in September, National IT Professionals Day is set aside to honor the venerable geeks of the world we all rely on to keep us connected. The IT (information technology) professional is the unsung hero of modern business, but often under appreciated by it. Whether it be desktops, laptops, mobile devices, applications, servers, networks, databases or cyber security, IT professionals keep business humming. However, there is often a lack of understanding by business leaders and end users of the important role they play and the difficulties and complexities associated with modern IT.
If you’re an end-user, simply say thank you to the IT professionals that make your life easier. Also, share #ITProfessionalsDay on Social Media to increase awareness of just how important our IT professionals are.
